Healing is a mercy as well as forgiveness.

The sick, in the days of Matthew 20:29-34
when they were looking for healing, asked
for mercy.

Today most people think of mercy as only
to sinners, not knowing that His mercy is
also concerning the sick.
Even when you get to know God is willing;
the term 'willing' is too weak to fully
express God's mercifulness towards us.

"He delighteth in mercy" Micah 7:18 and
"For the eyes o the Lord run to and fro
throughout the whole earth, to show Him
self strong in the behalf of them whose
heart is perfect towards Him."
II Chronicles 16:9

Here He is not only willing but eager to
pour out His blessings upon all who make
it possible for Him to do so. He is looking
for opportunities.
Before praying for healing, people need to
be taught the Word of God until they know
that the Lord is willing.

It is what Jesus did before healing the leper
who said, "If thou wilt thou canst make me
clean", and Jesus said, I will, be thou clean."

He showed His willingness, so that the man
could really expect healing.
It doesn't take much faith to say, "the Lord
is able". Satan knows God is able and he
knows He is willing. But he has kept people
from knowing that God is willing.

Satan wants us to emphesise God's power,
because it isn't enough to put our faith in.
He knows that the Lord's compassion and His
willingness is.
"the lord is gracious," meaning, "He is
disposed to show favors." This fact has
been hidden by teachings that the Lord is
able.

Many needing healing know that He is
able but because of lack of teaching it has
kept them from knowing that He is willing.
Man has stressed God's power more than
His compassion. The Bible stresses His
willingness to use His power more than it
does the power itself.

The Bible doesn't say that God is power, but
it does say that God is love!

It is not faith in God's power that gets us His
blessings, but faith in His love and in His will.
By showing His compassion everywhere in
healing the sick, Jesus reveals the heart of
God the Father. It brought multitudes to
Him.

How Satan has tried to hide this fact from
people. He has constantly told the unscrip-
tural lie that miracles are past, until he has
almost blinded the eyes of the world.
"The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion;
slow to ander, and of great mercy. The Lord is
good to all: and His tender mercies are over all
His works" Psalms 145:8-9

The Lord's compassion is a revelation of His
willingness to heal. During His ministry He was
everywhere moved with compassion and healed
them all; and it is the same Jesus who said, "It
is expedient for you that I go away," is now
seated at the right hand of God, "that He might
be a merciful [compassionate] and faithful
High Priest" for us.
In Romans 10:9 the word is translated saved.
In Acts 14:9 the same word is translated
healed referring to the healing of the man
lame from birth.

Both Greek words for salvation and saved
mean both spiritual and physical salvation
or spiritual and physical healing.

In Ephesians, Paul says, "He is the Savior
of the body."
The word salvation in the Greek means
deliverance, preservation, healing, health,
soundness, and in the New Testament some
times it applies to the soul and at other times
to the body.

It also means saved, healed, made sound, and
made whole.
We are the temples of the Holy Ghost. We
are members of Christ. Since the body is for
the Lord, a living sacrifice unto God; He must
prefer healthy bodies, so we can be perfect in
every good work to do His will.
In John 10:10,11 Jesus said, "The thief [devil]
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy. I am [Jesus] come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly. I am [Jesus] the good shepherd:
the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

This scripture clearly separates and explains
what is of the devil and what is of Jesus!

Sickness, disease and infirmities can kill,
can steal what is good in life, and destroy the
lives of others. That's certainly not of God.
Jesus was manifested to destroy the works
of the devil.

He left heaven and came here and became a
man; went through suffering and sacrifice...
.."For this purpose, the Son of God was
manifested, that He might destroy the works
of the devil." 1 John 3:8
If healing isn't God's will, Jesus didn't do
His Father's will on the earth because He
went about healing all that were oppressed
of the devil.

Everyone who came to Jesus throughout
His three year ministry got healed by the
Holy Spirit so both ministered out of the
Father 's will.
If sickness, disease and infirmities are the
will of God for His children, then it would
be against His will [sin] for them to want to
get well; not to mention the money they spend
on disobeying His will.

Every doctor would be a sinner and hospitals
should be closed down.
"He hath redeemed us (all) from the curse
of the law" Galatians 3:13

This curse included all the diseases know
to man throughout history. God cannot
justify us and yet require us to stay under
the curse that He has redeemed us from.
The mercy/compassion of the Lord is from
everlasting to everlasting; not on the sinner
only but upon them that fear Him, for He
loves His sick and suffering children even
more that He loves the sinner.

His mercy/compassion is unto all generations!
Jesus' love and mercy that He had on the
sick, and healed all who had need of healing,
didn't change His caring for the sufferings
of His own after He went to be with the Father.
Since bodily healing is a mercy in the New
Testament, the promise is still true that He
is plenteous in mercy to all that call upon
Him for it today.
During Jesus' ministry here on earth, He
was everywhere "moved with compassion
and healed all that had need of healing."

The same word used for 'compassion' is also
used for 'mercy'. Two blind men asked for
mercy, Jesus was moved with compassion
and healed them.
The fact that since Jesus ascended into
heaven He has "set" in the Church teachers,
miracles, gifts of healing, etc., for the con-
tinuance of the "same works" and "greater
works" which He promised He would con-
tinue from the right hand of the Father.

There are records of manifestations of these
miraculous gifts since the days of the apostles
to today.
