God would get so much glory and the world
would be so blessed if healing was preached
as much as salvation or along with salvation
because they are hand-in-hand in the
atonement.

In many translations 'salvation' means not
only to be saved spiritually, but to be sound
spirit, soul and body.

We are not to have one without the other!
"And great multitudes came unto Him, having
with them those that were lame, blind, dumb,
maimed and many others, and cast them down
at Jesus' feet; and He healed them: insomuch
that the multitudes wondered when they saw the
dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the
lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they
glorified the God of Israel." Matthew 15:30,31

It wasn't their being sick but their being healed,
that caused the "great multitudes" to "glorify
the God of Israel".
Jesus is still asking,

"What will ye that I should do
unto you?"
Jesus was "plentious in mercy" to "all that
had need of healing"; and it was His com-
passion that moved Him.

Jesus granted mercy for healing, proving
that healing is a mercy as well as forgiveness.

Those seeking healing then, asked for mercy.
Today most people think of mercy only going
to the sinner, not knowing that His mercy is
also given out to the sick.

"And as they departed from Jericho, a great
multitude followed Him. And, behold, two
blind men sitting by the wayside, when they
heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying,
'Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David,
And Jesus said, 'What will ye that I shall do unto
you?' So Jesus had compassion on them, and
touched their eyes and immediately their eyes
received sight, and they followed Him"
Matthew 20:29-34
" . . . .He departed thence by ship into a desert
place apart; and when the people had heard
thereof they followed Him on foot out of the
cities. And Jesus went forth and saw a great
multitude, and was moved with compassion
toward them, and He healed their sick"
Matthew 14:13,14
"And there came a leper to Him, beseeching Him,
and kneeling down to Him, and saying unto Him,
'if thou wilt thou canst make me clean.' And Jesus,
moved with compassion put forth His hand, and
touched him and saith unto him, 'I will; be thou
clean.' And as soon as He had spoken,
immediately the leprosy departed from him, and
he was cleansed:. . . and they came to Him from
every
quarter" Mark 1:40-45

". . . there is no God like thee. . . .which keep-
est covenant and showeth mercy unto thy
servants that walk before thee with all their
hearts" 2 Chronicles 6:14.

Not some, but "All the paths of the Lord are
mercy and truth unto such as keep His
covenant and His testimonies".
Psalms 25:10.
God loves His own children who are sick and
suffering even more than He loves the sinner.

The mercy/compassion of the Lord is from
everlasting to everlasting upon all that fear
Him.

"Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord
pitieth them that fear Him."

"As the Heaven is high above the earth, so great
is His mercy toward them that fear Him."
The Lord is good to all and His tender mercies
are over all His works.

He is so full of compassion that He cannot be
a respecter of persons in giving out His mercies.

He cannot withhold the common blessing of
healing from any who call upon (believe) Him
for it.
Isaiah said, "In all their affliction He was
afflicted."

This wonderful fact of His mercy to the sick,
seen in the Old Testament; should also be
seen in this 'better' age of the New Testament
which opens the way for the fullest possible
manifestations of His mercy regarding every
part of human need.
The Lord is full of compassion; slow to anger,
and of great mercy. He isn't only able but He
is also willing to do exceeding abundantly above
all that we ask or think.

His love is so great that His eyes are looking all
over throughout the whole earth to see who He
can bless.

He would rather that we doubt whether He is able
to bless us; than to doubt whether He is willing to
bless us.
One of God's greatest attributes is benevolence.
To please Him we have to move all obstacles
out of the way so that He can use that part of
Himself for us.

His love and goodness is endless; and He lives
forever to pour out His blessings upon His
people whenever we make it possible for Him
to do so.
"The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy,"
James 5:11

and then follows with directions to the church,

"is any sick among you? let him call for the
elders of the Church, and let them pray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the
Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the
sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if
he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven
him." (vs 14 & 15)

Healing and forgiveness
go together in the atonement!

Paul called God the "Father of Mercies", and
proved it by healing all the sick on the island
of Melita.

Jesus said, "Bless are the merciful/compass-
ionate for they shall obtain mercy."
